<note resp="project">Die 1932 gegründete „Kulturgemeinschaft Der Kreis“ organisierte in den 1950er Jahren zahlreiche Kulturveranstaltungen (Lesungen, Vorträge oder Konzerte), die großteils Mittwochabend in den Räumlichkeiten des Wiener <rs ref="#Institut_für_Wissenschaft_und_Kunst" type="org">Instituts für Wissenschaft und Kunst</rs> stattfanden. Daneben wurden von den Vereinsmitgliedern gemeinsame Ausflüge unternommen und Ausstellungen oder Theateraufführungen besucht. Seit 1949 gab der Verein unter der Leitung von <rs ref="#Wittmann_Heinz" type="person">Heinz Wittmann</rs> eigene „<rs ref="#Wittmann-Mitteilungen_Kulturgemeinschaft_Der_-0000" type="work">Mitteilungen</rs>“ heraus, die neben den Ankündigungen zu den Veranstaltungen auch literarische Texte beinhaltete. Andreas Okopenko war ab 1951 Vereinsmitglied. In den NW Nr.71/72 von (Jan-Feb.1952) erscheint ein Beitrag von Gustav Maschke zum "Kreis", S.512-514). Eine Materialsammlung zum Verein liegt am Literaturhaus Wien (N1.A-9 Sammlung Kulturgemeinschaft "Der Kreis"). Der Verein besteht bis heute.</note>
