Austrian newspapers in turbulent times – a digital comparison
Thomas Kirchmair compared editions of two Austrian Newspapers, namely the Wiener Zeitung and the Salzburger Intelligenzblatt, from the end of the 18th century by applying the OCTIS framework for topic modelling. He analyzed 1304 issues of the Wiener Zeitung and 630 issues of the Salzburger Intelligenzblatt from the Austrian Newspaper Online Corpus (ANNO). The results show that both newspapers have different profiles of topics. Thomas Kirchmair's article is available in German only (Please switch to the German version of the site).
