Launch of the ONB Labs 2018

🎉 ONB Labs officially went online on November 22, 2018! 🎉

To celebrate the launch of the Austrian National Library Labs, they were presented to a small group for the first time. The team presented the Labs and several ongoing projects that are already using data and services from the Austrian National Library. Rita Klement then showed her work on advertisements in the “Wienerisches Diarium”. Stefanie Wuschitz and Lale Rodgarkia-Dara reported on a performance by Mz* Baltazar’s Laboratory, in which full-text data from the library was processed using Processing Patch. Martin Reinhart and Leo Coster presented their project DATA LOAM, which uses linked open data to create semantic connections between data. Christoph Steindl then explained the work with digital editions and Named Entity Recognition. Thomas Wagensommerer rounded off the evening with an audiovisual performance, which dealt with metadata from the ONB Labs.

We would like to thank the speakers and all participants for their support—the evening was a great success!

If you would like to know more about the event and also look at some pictures, you can read an article in German on the ONB research blog here (written by Sophie-Carolin Wagner).
