# Train Akon postcards colorizer

This repository contains the code to train a colorizer model with the AKON colored postcards (given by [this collection](https://iiif.onb.ac.at/presentation/collection/labs_postcards_all_color_cards)) and apply it to a random postcard from this colelction.

The code to train and apply the model is given in the jupyter notebook [train_colorizer.ipynb](train_colorizer.ipynb), to donwload the postcards for training run the script [download_postcards.py](download_postcards.py). (For acceptable training time a GPU should be used.)

Most of the code has been adapted from the already present repoitory [iiif-image-manipulation](https://labs.onb.ac.at/gitlab/labs-team/iiif-image-manipulation).
