ONB Labs Symposium 2026

ONB Labs Symposium 2026: Invitation, Registration and Program

We are happy to share information regarding the program (see the preliminary program below) and registration for the upcoming fourth ONB Labs Symposium: “Collections as Data—Biases as Data,” which will take place at the Oratorium of the Austrian National Library on November 9 & 10, 2026!

This in-person only event explores the many ways in which biases shape cultural heritage data and the implications they have for GLAM institutions and their Labs worldwide. As discussions around this topic continue to gain momentum, we have invited experts to share their perspectives on gender bias in cultural heritage data, the cultural biases that influence collecting and curating practices, and the impact of algorithmic bias in the tools and technologies used across the sector. The program will conclude with a panel discussion that will reflect on the challenges involved and explore strategies for addressing and mitigating potential biases.
